THE WORD OF GOD
The beliefs of Kingdom Covenant Family Church are based on “the whole Bible rightly divided.” We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God and that it is His holy and inspired Word. We profess that the Bible is God’s written revelation of Himself to mankind and it is our guide to all matters of faith and our highest authority for doctrine, practice, organization, and discipline. We affirm that all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work and so that the man of God may be complete. (Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 24:35; II Timothy 3:15-16: Hebrews 4:12-13; II Peter 1:21)
THE TRINITY OF GOD
We believe that there is only one true and living God who is the Creator of all things. He is the eternal and self-existent God who manifests himself in the person of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption. (Matthew 3:17; John 5:19; John 14:26; John 15:26; II Corinthians 13:14)
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the Son of the Living God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe that He came in the flesh and that He led a sinless life. We profess that Christ died on the cross as the complete and final sacrifice for the sins of mankind according to the Scriptures. We believe further in the resurrection of Christ, that He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven, where He is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. He is now our High Priest and Advocate. We believe in the physical miracles He performed and that He will return in power and glory at His second coming. (John 16:28; John 20:21; Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 40:8; Colossians 2:9; Titus 2:13)
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the sinner is brought to an awareness of the need for salvation through the convicting work of the Holy Spirit. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for the salvation of sinful mankind and that only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. We affirm that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service. (John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:13; Romans 8:27)
REGENERATION
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (Titus 3:5)
SIN
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost. Sin is a violation of God’s laws. Sin is both an act and a state. As a revolt against God’s law, it is an act of man’s will. As a separation from God, it becomes a sinful state. (Psalm 51:5; Matthew 6:12; Romans 3:23)
SALVATION
We believe that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the only way whereby men may be saved. We profess that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God. We believe that in sanctification by the blood of Christ, one is made holy. (John 3:16; Romans 5:2; I Corinthians 1: 2; I Corinthians 1:30; II Corinthians 5:17; II Corinthians 5:21;I Ephesians 1:7; Thessalonians 4:7)
WATER BAPTISM
We believe the word "baptize" used in the Bible means literally to dip or to immerse in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36, 38; John 3:22-23) All who sincerely repent of their sins and exercise a living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are eligible for baptism. We believe that water baptism in itself has no saving power; people are baptized, not in order to be saved but because they are saved.
BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit subsequent to cleansing as the endowment of power for service and that the speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:11; Luke 24:49; 53; Acts 1:4-8; John 15:26; Acts 2:4; 10:44-46)
SPIRITUAL GIFTS
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has given the Church the fivefold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to prepare God’s people for works of service and to build up the Body of Christ (I Corinthians 12: 1, 7, 8-11, 28,1; 14:1; 1 Peter 4:10)
THE LORD’S SUPPER
The distinctive right of Christian worship instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that this ordinance should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 11:20-34; Luke 22:17-20) In partaking of the Lord’s Supper, we are reminded and assured that by faith we may truly receive His Spirit and reflect His character.
THE CHURCH
We believe that God the Father has appointed the Lord Jesus Christ to be Head over everything for the church, which is His Body. Believers are God’s elect; those that are characterized by their doctrine of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, that is, those who have confessed their sins, repented, consistently walk in the ways of the Lord and fellowship with other believers. We believe in the oneness and ultimate unity of believers for which our Lord prayed, and that this should be evident in the lives of believers so “that the world may know, see, and believe”. (Matthew 16:13-19; 28:19; Acts 1:8; Corinthians 14:19; II Corinthians 11:2, Romans 16:5; Ephesians 5:25-27; Ephesians 5: 32)
CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES & CONDUCT
Kingdom Covenant Family Church embraces all biblical doctrines as taught in the New Testament, which we believe to be helpful to believers seeking to mature in Christ Jesus. We aspire to live in the world in such a way that our light will shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify our Father which is in heaven. If we live in the Spirit, we will manifest the fruit (attitudes and actions) of the Spirit and will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. We should behave in a way that will point others to Christ. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to a life in which the fruit of the Spirit is evident and a life which reflects the image and likeness of Christ. (Galatians 5:16; 22-25; I John 1:7; Ephesians 4:1-4)
THE LAST THINGS
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal future of the righteous with Christ in heaven, and the endless suffering of the wicked in hell. (I Corinthians 15:52; I Thessalonians 4:15-17; II Thessalonians 1:7-10; Revelations 5:10; John 10:28; Acts 24:15; Luke 18:30; Romans 6:22; Revelations 20:10-15; 21:8)
TITHES & OFFERING/GIVING
We believe in the principle of tithes and offering and uphold the principle that God loves a cheerful giver. We covenant to contribute cheerfully and regularly, as God prospers us, to the support of this Church and its worldwide ministries. (Genesis 14:18-20; Malachi 3:10; Luke 11:42; Acts 2:44-45; I Corinthians 16:2; II Corinthians 9:6-9)
THE COVENANTS OF FAMILY & MARRIAGE
Marriage is ordained of God and is a spiritual union in which a man and a woman are joined by God in matrimony to live together as one. Because of the divine character of marriage, we believe that it is a lifelong commitment with the only clear biblical allowance for divorce being fornication. We believe in the sanctity of the covenant of marriage and the importance of strong, loving Christian families. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we will give priority to fulfilling family responsibilities, to preserving our marriages and to maintaining divine order in the home.
(Genesis 2:24; Mark 10:7)
